Suicide is also the apex and product of despair, a grave sin. Obviously we worship a Lord of mercy and love, but I think it is misleading to say that the Bible does not explicitly address suicide because it creates the implication that it is acceptable.

Yes, see few posts above about the ten commandments. The Bible does make it clear, that God wants us to live. There’s Jeremian 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” And 1 Corthin 6:19-20: “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own, you were brought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.” God doesn’t want us to kill ourselves; he gives us strength to overcome our trials.
